Swimmers in France have been warned to steer clear of the water- As a resident dolphin is getting a little too friendly with the bathers. The bottlenose dolphin, nicknamed Zafar, has for weeks been entertaining the public, and swimming with bathers and kayakers. But now authorities are getting a little nervous- it seems that the contact Zafar is seeking, gets more extreme with each day. As of yet, the dolphin has not been aggressive, but has been ‘rubbing up against people as they enter the water’- even in shallow depths. Zafar’s behaviour was taken at first as harmless dolphin hijinks- but the nail in the coffin came as the dolphin tossed a young female bather in the air with its nose.
